Implementation Resources

CCRI is implemented throughout existing courses, making lessons more effectively taught by a teaching team rather than one individual instructor. When working to implement CCRI, consider involving other team teachers, counselors, designated college and career readiness personnel, or advisory board and community partners in lesson delivery. Implementation resources aid in this process of team development and CCRI implementation. To begin the implementation process, consult the CCRI Scope and Sequence, identifying lessons that are a best fit for your academy and students. Additional implementation resources assist teachers through the overall planning and implementation process, including: Semester Planning Tables, the Guide for Teaching the NAF CCRI, a College and Career Readiness Crosswalk, and the Overview of CCRI Implementation.



Awareness lessons focus on college and career awareness for students in 9th and 10th grade. These lessons introduce students to study skills, successful academic habits, and provide general guidance for researching college and career options. Students are introduced to NAFTrack portfolio and learn how to develop a personalized college and career readiness plan that will be used throughout their experience as an academy student. Students form an understanding of academic success’s connection to industry.



Exploration lessons focus on career exploration for 10th and 11th grade students. Lessons 17-32 dive deeper into college and career readiness by preparing students through exposure to creating professional documents, assessing college options, and exploring characteristics of successful professionals. Students begin preparation for the internship experience and connect with industry through various work-based learning (WBL) experiences.



Preparation lessons focus on personalized college and career readiness (CCR) for 11th and 12th grade students. Lessons begin with the internship experience and gradually shift toward preparation for the professional world. Students create their professional brand with help from industry professionals who review student resumes, cover letters, and portfolios. By the end of this lesson sequence, students are aware of their personal college and career path and understand steps to future success.
